Tony Haynes, Artistic Director of Grand Union Orchestra (GUO) and Kape Communications presented a series of Grand Union performances at The Loft, Melbourne, which included some of Melbourne’s key world musicians and jazz musicians and Victoria College of the Arts students. It unique program secured extensive profile in the media and generated new audiences from culturally diverse communities, youth and jazz sectors. Following the success of these shows the Grand Union Orchestra was contacted to perform in the 2004 Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
